Grandpa. Where do I begin? You are one of the most honerable men that I have ever been priveledged to have known. What you did for this country, and what you did for our family, I am more greatful for these things more than you will ever know. Over this recent Christmas break, you became my best friend. I loved every minute that I got to spend with you, and wish that I would have spent more time with you than I did. When you asked me to give you a blessing, I was so honored, and more than willing to do so. When you told my dad to get me down there to say goodbye before you left us, to go see your beautiful wife, that melted my heart, and meant the world to me. You are one of the greatest men in my life, and you will be forever missed, and loved. You are the lucky one. You get to be with grandma again, and all of your other relatives that have gone to the other side. Tell them all hi for me, and that I look forward to seeing them some day.
You will be forever in my heart, and even tho you only told me once that you loved me, I always knew you did, and guess what!! I love you too grandpa. You are an inspiration to me everyday. YOU are one of the bravest men that I've ever met, and I hope that some day I can be like you. That would be the best thing that I can think of to achieve. I can feel you here with me, and I know that everything is going to be okay. I will miss you immemsely, and it will be hard. But you are in the best place for you right now, and when I meet you again, be expecting the biggest hug from me. You rock!! I love you grandpa. R.I.P. Richard Barnes Smuin. 6/7/2011
